Polymeric MDI (Polymethylene Polyphenyl Polyisocyanate, referred to as PMDI) is a brown transparent liquid and one of the most important basic raw materials in the polyurethane industry. It is not a single compound, but a mixture composed of diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and its polymers, with an average functionality of approximately 2.7~3.0 and an NCO content usually ranging from 30.5% to 32.5%.
Application Scope
Polymeric MDI is widely used in building insulation, home appliance industry, automobile manufacturing, adhesives and sealants, as well as wood-like materials and structural foams. It is used as an adhesive for OSB (Oriented Strand Board) and as a formaldehyde-free adhesive for furniture decorative panels. Packaging and Storage
It is packaged in 250kg iron drums or tank trucks with nitrogen-filled sealed packaging. It should be stored in a dry environment at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, and the shelf life is generally 12~24 months. It is transported as an ordinary chemical and is a non-hazardous material, but leakage and moisture should be prevented.
